Winning the battle against drug and alcohol addiction does not happen overnight. But it can be a little easier if you have the right treatment options in place.
The Beach House provides individualized addiction treatment plans to help patients deal with their alcohol and drug addictions, from therapy and counseling to alcohol and drug detox.
When patients are admitted to one of our treatment programs, they’ll receive comprehensive diagnostic evaluations to determine the best course of action for battling their addiction.
Our medical experts will consider current symptoms, behavioral factors and possible dual diagnoses or co-occurring disorders to determine what may be causing the addiction and come up with a customized treatment plan to help patients realize their goals of being drug or alcohol free.
In some cases, the first course of action is alcohol or drug detox. Patients need to be stabilized and have clear systems before the next steps in a recovery plan can be effective and successful.
Every patient handles detox differently. In some cases, the process may take a couple days. But in other cases, detox could take up to two weeks. During this time, addicts can display a wide range of withdrawal symptoms from anxiety, irrational behavior, and memory loss to emotional outbursts and physical illness.
The severity of the symptoms depends on the length of addiction and type of substances being abused, and these conditions can be exasperated if a patient has a co-occurring disorder or dual diagnosis.
Our rehabilitation staff, led by world-renowned addiction specialist and former Betty Ford Center director Dr. Harry Haroutunian, provides medically-supervised detoxification and regular psychological and psychiatric analyses to ensure patients are guided through the process in a safe, relaxing and effective manner.
The Beach House also works in partnership with local specialized clinics and the UCLA Medical Center, which provide additional support for emergency health or behavioral issues.
The Beach House has three unique inpatient treatment plans to meet the needs of patients. Our Professionals Program, Executive Program, and Executive Concierge Program include world-class residential facilities which double as treatment centers where patients can go through the detoxification process while enjoying luxurious and private accommodations that rival the best resorts in the country.
Most of these houses include private beaches or views of the Pacific Ocean from some of Malibu’s best vistas, state-of-the-art kitchen and dining options, and all the amenities our patients require for stress-free alcohol and drug addiction recovery.
Patients in the Professional Program complete all of their treatment at the Center for Wellness. The addicts in these facilities still receive the same level and quality of rehabilitation services, but generally do not have severe dependencies that require in-house treatment.
Local patients with non-life-threatening addiction who may not have the flexibility or financial means to participate in an inpatient program may still receive detoxification services at our Center for Wellness.
Located about 15 minutes north of our inpatient centers, this facility lies right in the heart of one of the largest addiction support communities in Southern California.
Just like in our inpatient facilities, our clinical staff follows an eclectic and proven recovery model based on the needs and dependencies of each individual addict, and provides a personalized plan that allows these patients to receive part-time detoxification and treatment without harming their career or family life.
These programs will often rely heavily on support groups and one-on-one therapy in lieu of 24/7 monitoring provided in inpatient facilities.
Alcohol and drug detox may temporarily cure substance abuse, but The Beach House provides additional treatments – based on our comprehensive evaluations and customized recovery plans – to keep our patients from returning to their old habits.
Our medical team might suggest a handful of evidence-based options, such as one-on-one therapy, group sessions and community programs.
Our goal is to provide support to ensure our patients maintain and clean and healthy lifestyles to avoid relapses.
