Julie Mermelstein, M.A. LMFT
Julie Mermelstein is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who earned a master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in Theatre and Communications from Emerson College. In addition to her clinical work Julie is a creative writer and recently published an article in More magazine. Julie has been providing therapeutic services to individuals, families, couples, children and teens since 1995 and has been in private practice since 2010. Julie has worked as an indiviual and family therapist in numerous inpatient and outpatient treatment programs in Southern California. Currently she also facilitates healthy relationships and self-care groups, which is an important focus of her work. Her approach to therapy, recovery and healing is eclectic, she pulls from humanistic, attachment and systems approaches with a strong focus on women’s issues, trauma and addiction. She is an active member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, Women’s Association of Addiction Treatment and the Southern California Recovery Community.
